Gill Chapple

Chief Executive Officer

With over 25 years’ experience leading businesses across multiple sectors, Gill combines a strong background in executive management and accounting with a deep commitment to nature restoration. She first joined The Future Forest Company over five years ago and has recently returned as CEO to guide the business through its next phase, one that unites commercial strength with environmental ambition. Gill’s focus is on ensuring that every decision delivers both tangible benefits for nature and ensures a resilient organisation capable of restoring landscapes for generations to come. By aligning robust financial strategy with meaningful ecological outcomes, she is working to maximise the value FFC creates - for our partners, our communities, and the planet we share.

Dan Maltby

Chief Operating Officer

As COO, Dan leads the delivery of our projects and oversees day-to-day operations across our estates. With a background in hands-on operations and team leadership, his focus is on keeping things moving, solving problems early, and building systems that work for people and nature. He's a firm believer in restoring our connection to the land through understanding, collaboration, and creativity.

Andy Haxton

Business Development & Strategic Partnerships

Andrew leads commercial activity at The Future Forest Company, focusing on business development and partnerships across FFC’s carbon portfolio, impact offering, and Trees Not Tees contributions. Based in Glasgow, he brings a background in climate, energy, and commercial growth, with a particular focus on helping businesses support credible nature restoration.

Lisa Marshall

Regenerative Systems Data Analyst

As the FFC's Regenerative Systems Data Analyst, Lisa is responsible for the management of the company's operational data. Her specialism is in GIS (geographic information systems) and through this she manages all existing datasets, sets up mobile data collection applications for the field team, collaborates with public bodies and research institutes, and produces cartographic outputs for reports and client deliverables. She also really enjoys getting out in the field for ranger surveys (including biodiversity walkovers, deer fence checks and bird ringing), assisting with any works required on the ground, engaging with the public, and delivering client and volunteer workshops.

Ophélie Lasne

Ranger

As Ranger and Ecologist, she is the boots on the ground across our sites, carrying out ecological surveys, monitoring habitats and species, and tracking how our landscapes are changing over time. Her work provides valuable insight into the health of our ecosystems and helps ensure our restoration projects are delivering meaningful outcomes for biodiversity. If you're visiting one of our sites, there's a good chance you'll spot her somewhere on the hill with her dog—so don't be shy, come and say hi!

David Carruth

Sustainable Farming Manager

As sustainable farming manager, David's focus is on one of The Future Forest Companies' most inspiring restoration sites - Brodoclea Woodland Farm. David has helped turn the site into one of Scotlands leading Agroforestry projects, with the help of our Mangalitsa woolly pigs. Over the years the project has won multiple awards, attracted the attention of the media and even began to influence policy, paving the way for others to follow in its footsteps.
