While we are celebrating Scotland’s Climate Week, we are excited to share more about our collaboration with The Student Energy Group and how they are helping to restore nature within Scotland!
In a time when the climate crisis demands urgent action, partnerships like these show how businesses can make a tangible difference in protecting and preserving our natural world.
The Student Energy Group is a student bill provider on a mission to save the planet.
They have partnered with us at The Future Forest Company to plant a tree for every household that signs up for their services. They are also supporting wildflower meadow enhancement at our Dumyat site in Stirling.
;
To get a better insight into their passion for sustainability and why they chose to work with us, we spoke to The Student Energy Group team, here’s what they had to say:
What inspired you to work with The Future Forest Company and support nature restoration in Scotland?
"When The Student Energy Group was founded, we committed to making a meaningful difference. Initially, we pledged to plant one tree for every household. During our research, we discovered that not all tree-planting organisations are created equal.
The Future Forest Company stood out due to their profound expertise in restoration practices, reassuring us that our efforts were purposeful and impactful.
We appreciated their long-term vision and dedication to restoring specific areas, which aligns perfectly with our own focus on the bigger picture. Contributing to Scotland’s natural habitats is a compelling motivator for our business."
How does nature restoration align with your business values and mission?
"At The Student Energy Group, our core value is to Simply Do the Right Thing—by our customers, ourselves, and the world. We firmly believe in businesses being a force for good. Nature restoration aligns seamlessly with this value.
What other steps have you taken within your business to drive climate action?
"We actively collaborate with like-minded organisations that prioritise environmentally friendly practices. For example, at our brand launch, we partnered with The Clean Kilo to offer sustainable welcome packages to our staff.
Looking ahead, we aspire to become a B-Corp, which will require us to evaluate and refine our processes to ensure that ethical practices take precedence over mere profit. This step reflects our commitment to comprehensive climate action and sustainability."
How has your commitment to nature restoration inspired your team?
"Rose, our Brand & Marketing Executive, has been instrumental in fostering and maintaining our partnership with The Future Forest Company. Her commitment goes beyond enhancing our brand; she genuinely believes in the power of nature restoration for a better future.
Similarly, Josh, our Head of Customer Experience, is deeply engaged in our tree planting and wild meadow sponsorship initiatives. Both individuals exemplify our mission to do the right thing and actively involve our customers in our journey."
What kind of future are you striving to create?
"We strive to create a future that embodies the spirit of the quote: 'A society grows great when people plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.'
We understand that the trees we plant today will not benefit us directly but will contribute to a better world for future generations. By taking action now, we aim to leave behind a legacy of a healthier, more sustainable planet.
If more businesses took this direct action and followed our lead, it would significantly contribute to securing a brighter future for all."
The Student Energy Group’s dedication to supporting nature restoration and its partnership with The Future Forest Company exemplifies the kind of business leadership needed in the fight against climate change.
Businesses have a critical role to play in preserving our natural ecosystems and fighting the climate crisis. There's no better way to inspire action than to lead by example and that is exactly what The Student Energy Group is doing!
You can follow their lead and make an impact today by helping nature thrive!
