As the beauty industry embraces the move towards a more sustainable future, The Future Forest Company is proud to partner with Estée Lauder Companies UK & Ireland.

Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) are planting over 8000 trees – a tree for every employee and, on the year of the organisation’s 75th Anniversary, 100 trees for every year ELC has committed to embedding social and environmental action into the core of its business. The trees are being planted at The Future Forest Company’s third forest site in North Ayrshire, Scotland.

‘We are thrilled to partner with ELC as part of their 75th Anniversary celebrations,’ says Chris Zair, Head of Partnerships at The Future Forest Company. ‘Every member of the Estée Lauder UK Team will receive a personalised tree e-certificate with their very own tree. It’s been clear throughout our planning and discussions with Jenny Revell and her Sustainability Team that for ELC, our tree planting project is one of a number of pillars of their sustainability strategy led from the top of the organisation. We can’t wait to welcome the team onsite to see their forest grow for years to come!’

ELC is a family-founded company focused on long-term sustainable growth, dedicated to managing environmental and social impacts throughout the value chain, driving sustainability initiatives forward and helping innovate, solve and connect at both local and global levels. At their UK-based manufacturing facility, where many of their leading prestige beauty products are produced, approximately 20-25% of the annual electricity requirements are powered by a 1 megawatt solar PV system.

‘Sustainability has long been central to how The Estée Lauder Companies and its brands have operated and is a key part of our corporate strategy for the future,’ says Nancy Mahon, Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability. ‘We know this work is more important than ever, and we are committed to accelerating our efforts to contribute to the health and well-being of people and the planet.’

The Future Forest Company delivers innovative, ambitious reforestation projects at scale, and already owns four sites in Scotland with enough land to plant over 1 million trees. The company is continually adding new sites to its portfolio to enable the planting of 50 million trees by 2025. Everything the company does is designed to maximise the amount of carbon dioxide removed from the atmosphere. All the land is restored by co-deploying reforestation and the negative emissions technologies of biochar and enhanced weathering. The Future Forest Company offers its business partners a variety of options for reversing climate change, from tree planting, which focuses on helping ecological restoration, to carbon credits from our different technologies.
